Working together is our generation’s moonshot. | El trabajar juntos es la meta de nuestra generación!
Quick note before walking neighborhoods to get out the vote today. Early voting is well underway, and in the 24th Congressional District, there are five candidates.
As a former Republican congressional staffer and former GOTV organizer and volunteer for Republican candidates, here’s why I’m supporting Mark and voting Independent this year.
We can’t continue on the path we are on as a nation. The bottom line is that it’s time to unify the country. I saw partisanship first-hand in Congress, and voting for Mark is a way to make my vote matter, to leave the voting booth knowing that I voted my values, that I voted for inclusive debate in Congress, that I don’t have to choose between candidates who will continue fighting the other side when they get to Washington.
I’ve sat on the House Floor and handed talking points I crafted to Members of Congress to speak in front of the cameras. I’ve had quick, passing conversations with Paul Ryan and Mike Pence. Heck, I’ve had four Members of Congress in my car at one time and listened to them chatter among themselves.
If elected, Mark could become one of the most effective Members of Congress because his bottom line is that we should listen to each other and work together. That’s obviously not what I saw in Congress for four years, although I know my colleagues and I all wanted the best for the country.
So this year and going forward, I’m going to make my vote matter. If you make your vote matter too, we can begin to unify the country.
